Biography

Higher education. In 1986 he graduated from the Kyrgyz State National University (KGNU) with a degree in economics.

After graduation, he was directed to Komsomol work. In the first half of the 1990s, he headed a number of commercial structures.

Since 1997 , he has been working in the “team” of the future president of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev . From 1997 to 2000 - the head of the apparatus of the Chui regional state administration, in 2000 - 2001 - the deputy head of the Chui regional state administration, in 2001 - 2002 - the head of the department of organizational, personnel work with local state administrations and local governments of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic.

After the resignation of the government of Bakiev, Azim Isabekov served as director of the State Fund for Economic Development ( 2002 - 2004 ), head of the tax inspectorate of Sokuluk district ( 2004 - 2005 ).

After the Tulip Revolution in March 2005 , Azim Isabekov was appointed acting Head of the Office of the Prime Minister. After the election of K. Bakiev as the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in November 2005 , he was appointed First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, oversaw organizational and personnel work.

From May 2006 to January 2007 - Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.

At a parliament meeting on January 29, 2007 , Azim Isabekov was appointed Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic.

On March 28 of that year, he announced the dismissal of several ministers of his government, but was not supported by President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. The next day, he submitted a resignation letter to the president.
