History
The group was formed by Joseph Prendergast, David Catmar and Olave Saunders in 2005, when they all studied at Kingston College. Over the next three years, Tubelord released several EPs and singles , and also had concerts throughout the UK and Europe with bands like This Town Needs Guns and Tellison . After another tiring tour, Olev Saunders left the band and was replaced by Sean Bamberger. Later, Tubelord released his debut album Our First American Friends , which was well received by critics from Rock Sound , [2] ThisisfakeDIY.com [3] and the BBC . [4] In 2008/2009, the group sends its single "I Am Azerrad" to the American journalist Michael Azerrad (Michael Azerrad), which has the line "I kill you today Azerrad" (I will kill you today, I will kill you Azerrad ), prompting Azerrad to contact the group and write a humorous essay in Spin .
After the highly successful album Our First American Friends, the band began working with legendary producer Steve Albini on the next EP Tezcatlipōca . The mini-album suffers a big change in the musical direction of the group, to which the fourth member of the keyboard player, James Elliott Field, was added, and Tom Coulson-Smith comes instead of the departed bassist Sean Bamberger. Tubelord continues to change the genre of his music in his second studio album romance , which was released on Pink Mist almost two years after their debut recording. In November 2012, the band announces that they will play their last concert on Christmas Eve.
