About the album

Recording took place in the spring and summer of 1983 at the Garden studio in London , and the mixing process took place at the Berlin studio Hansa Mischraum. Construction Time Again is the band’s first album to record with new Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder .

Excerpt from the song “More Than a Party”

In Construction Time Again, significant changes in the Depeche Mode style appeared. The album has a pronounced industrial sound [3] , which takes place in the next two studio albums Some Great Reward and Black Celebration . Also, Construction Time Again is distinguished by a deeper lyrical content of the songs [3] . Unlike previous records of the group, the compositions of this album reflected social and political themes.

The album is designed by Martin Atkins. The cover author is Brian Griffin. The cover shows Mount Matterhorn . Additional illustrations by Ian Wright.
