The Office of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces ( Hebrew אגף כוח אדם ) is one of the structural units of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces .

The Personnel Office is responsible for all issues related to the personnel of the Israel Defense Forces, including the planning of the army (in collaboration with the Planning Authority) [1] .
From 2006 to 2008, when the head of the department was Elazar Stern , the name of the department was changed to “Department of Human Resources”. In July 2008, when Elazar Stern was replaced by Avi Zamir as the head of the department, the department was renamed to its former name - “Personnel Department”.
Since September 9, 2014, the personnel department has been headed by Major General ( Aluf ) Hagi Topolyansky .
