GPZ-2

The second state bearing plant (GPZ-2) is a ball bearing factory [1] . In 2016, it was reorganized into the GPZ-2 Tver Limited Liability Company with the status of “Assignee”.

History

The production was created as the Swedish bearing company SKF Ball Bearing [2] [3] , the buildings of which were built in Moscow in 1916 [4] , and the founders were E. L. Nobel and A. F. Cherberg. After the revolution, the company was nationalized and renamed the "Second State Bearing Plant." [five]

Factory workers took part in the October Revolution and in the Civil War in Russia . After the revolution, factory workers participated in the construction and commissioning of the First Bearing Plant in Moscow. [five]

Until 1932, GPZ-2 was the only manufacturer of bearings for various purposes in the USSR until the First GPZ was built [6] .

During the Second World War, the production of bearings of the plant was moved to Tomsk . In 1943, the plant was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor [5] . After the war, part of the production remained in Tomsk (GPZ-5).

The plant had its own newspaper “For the Soviet Bearing”, previously alternately bearing the name “Leninsky Way”, “Ball Bearing”, and “Stakhanov Labor” [5] .

In the 1980s, part of the production, in order to optimize, was transferred to the village of Vasilyevsky Mokh, Tver Region [7] (correctional colony of strict regime IK-10) [8] and in the village of Metallists of the Kalinin district of the Tver region.

In 1993, the plant was corporatized and received the name "Shabolovsky Bearing Plant" (JSC "ShPZ") , since 1996 - OAO "Shabolovsky Bearing Plant (GPZ-2) " [5] .

In 2016, the plant was transferred to Tver and reorganized into LLC GPZ-2 Tver with the status of “Assignee”. [9]

Products

According to the director of the enterprise, it produces rolling and sliding bearings, thrust, angular contact, single row double row and other ball bearings, weighing from 4 to 6,000 g, with an outer diameter of 6 to 215 mm - only about 1240 items [10] .
