From 1725 to the 1750s, it was part of the Perspective Road to the Saarsky Manor (later the Tsarskoye Selo prospective road ).
In the 1750s, Kuzminskaya Street was allocated from the road, which was named after the settlement of Bolshoy Kuzmino (later - the village of Bolshoy Kuzmino (Pushkin) ), where it led. There was also an option Kuzminskaya street .
In 1859, on the section from Sadovaya Street to Malaya Street , Palace Street was allocated (the journey began from the Catherine Palace ). On April 20, 1918, this fragment was given a new name - Krasnoarmeyskaya Street (in honor of the Red Army ). The rest remained Kuzminskaya street .
On September 4, 1919, Krasnoarmeyskaya Street was renamed Karl Marx Street , and Kuzminskaya Street was renamed Friedrich Engels Street (in honor of the founders of the theory of scientific communism K. Marx and F. Engels ). Then the name Krasnoarmeysky Boulevard received the current Cadet Boulevard .
April 23, 1923 the streets of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels were united under the general name Beloborodov Street - in honor of the revolutionary A. G. Beloborodov. The name Karl Marx Street was moved to the current Magazinaya Street .
In 1937, it was renamed Vaseko Street - in honor of the Soviet balloonist A. B. Vasenko . He worked at the Slutsk (Pavlovsk) aerological observatory. Nowadays there is also Vasenko Street in Pavlovsk .
On July 7, 1993, the historical name Dvortsovaya was returned to the street, without dividing Vasenko Street into Dvortsovaya and Kuzminskaya.
