History
The Pearl Estate was founded in 1900 by the architect Nikolai Galaktionovich Kudryavtsev [2] .
Until the end of 1917, the estate administratively belonged to the Kologorodsky volost of the 2nd zemsky section of the 2nd camp of the Luga district of St. Petersburg province .
From 1918 to 1923, the village of Zhemchuzhina was part of the Korpovsky village council of the Smerdovskaya volost in the Luga district.
From 1923 to 1927 - again in the Kologorod volost [3] .
Since 1924, the estate was used as a haven for street children [2] .
From 1927 to 1928 - as part of the Luga volost, then the Luga district.
From 1928 to 1954 - as part of the Leskovsky Village Council [3] .
In 1938, the tuberculosis sanatorium Zhemchuzhina opened in the estate [2] .
From August 1, 1941 to January 31, 1944, the village of Zhemchuzhina was under occupation [3] .
During the war years, a hospital was operating in the sanatorium [2] .
Since June 1954 - in the Luga Village Council.
In 1961, the population of the village was 399 people [3] .
According to the data of 1966 and 1973, the Luga Village Council included the Zhemchuzhina Sanatorium [4] [5] .
According to 1990 data, the Zhemchuzhina Sanatorium was part of the Zaklinsky Village Council [6] .
In 1997, 85 people lived in the Zhemchuzhina Sanatorium village of Zaklinsky volost, in 2002 - 84 people (Russian - 93%) [7] [8] .
In 2007, 68 people lived in the village of Pearl Sanatorium of the Luga GP [9] .
Geography
The village is located in the southern part of the district on the highway 41K-675 ( Luga - Zhemchuzhina Sanatorium).
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 4 km [9] .
The distance to the nearest railway station Luga - 8 km [4] .
The village is located on the right bank of the Obla River.
