History
Arose in the 15th century near the castle of Splitter, which can be translated from German as a splinter of glass or a splinter. The fortress appeared at a time when the Order was creating a reliable path for itself, through which communication with the outside world would be established. Until the mid-30s, the Splinterstrasse was covered with cobblestone. Since about 1937 it was expanded, laid down with paving stones and it acquired a modern look. On the right side of the street, right behind the mill, there were five sawmills, they formed the largest industrial part of the district.
