Gagarinsky district is a former district in Moscow .
Description
The building of the district executive committee and the RK CPSU was located at the address: Lobachevsky Street, 66a. The district got its name from Yu. A. Gagarin . The territory lies within the limits of the Setun river to the Moscow Ring Road . It is washed by the Ramenki and Ochakovka rivers. In possession was the airport "Vnukovo" and villages: Meshchersky, West and Vostryakovo [1] .
The total area of 4764 hectares. The forest area is 1535 hectares, in which there is a forest park near Troparyov . The water area is 67 hectares: ponds in the Troekurovo estate, the Ochakovka river. The number of people in 1978 is 259 thousand [1] .

History
Until 1960, the prevailing part of the district belonged to the structure of the Moscow Region . Gagarinsky district was created in 1968 [1] .
The history of the area is closely connected with the history of the revolution. From 1900 to 1917 there were rallies of workers in the area. In 1917, the Kremlin was shelled from here. [1]
In 1978, the residential fund area was 3,972.4 thousand square meters, there were 14 working productions in the area: House-building combines Nos. 2 and 3, reinforced concrete construction plant, Film-copying factory, Experimental plant of fragrant substances, Ochakov soft drinks factory; 10 research institutes, design organizations and design offices: the Glavmosstroy Institute at the Moscow City Executive Committee, a branch of the Magarach Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking, the Research Institute for Problems of Mechanics of the USSR Academy of Sciences; Mosfilm Studio, Druzhba Hotel, 35 schools, 77 pre-school educational institutions, 4 cinemas, 58 libraries, 6 DK, 2 hospitals, 19 polyclinics, 84 food and 54 industrial stores, 191 catering points [1] .
In 1991, abolished.
