Biography
Galina Yurevna Volkova was born on October 19, 1963 in the city of Shakhty . She received higher education at the Institute of the Service Sector and Entrepreneurship (branch) of the DGTU of the City of Shakhty with a degree in Designing Leather Goods, after graduating with her father she moved to Nalchik [1] . A year later, she took the position of leading fashion designer at the Fashion House [2] . In the 90s, she opened her own shoe manufacturing company Alliance, whose initial capital was 50 thousand rubles [2] .
Then she went to Moscow , where she entered graduate school and became the head of the laboratory at the Academy of Light Industry. While still a student, she proposed to hold the first shoe design competition in Russia, which took place at the base of the Mosshoes. Since childhood Galina Volkova was fond of dancing , which prompted her to create a dissertation on dance shoes with elements of orthopedics . Soon Volkova got a job at the Moscow Orthopedic Factory, became the head of the studio , worked at the Central Research Institute of Leather and Shoe Industry [1] [2] .
In 2001, together with the OIF, she created the Ortomode company [2] . In parallel with her professional activity she participated in various competitions and worked as a teacher [2] . In 2002, a social entrepreneur presented a series of orthopedic shoes for people with disabilities in Düsseldorf [1] . Organizational activities contributed to her husband Volkova, with whom she met through work [1] .
Galina Yuryevna is a member of the Designers Union of Moscow and a member of the jury of the first Russian fashion competition for people with disabilities “Special Fashion” [3] .
Galina Volkova, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Doctor of Economics, an expert in the field of the rehabilitation industry, a member of the Academic Council of the Moscow State University of Design and Technology, an academician of the International Academy of Management, a member of the Moscow Union of Designers.
The creator of the first in Russia collection of school uniforms for children with disabilities [4] .
