Andrei Igorevich Ermolaev (born June 12, 1959) is a Russian geneticist, science historian and science fiction writer , one of the organizers of the movement of science fiction and role- lovers .

Biography
He studied at the University of Kazan and Leningrad University . In 1985-2002, he worked at the Department of Genetics of Kazan State University : he began as an engineer, then became an assistant then - a senior teacher. He taught courses “Genetic analysis”, “Genetics of microorganisms”, “Psychogenetics”, “History of genetics” and others. Candidate of Biological Sciences (dissertation "History of Genetic Research at Kazan University: 1804-1976", 2005). In this study, also issued as a monograph [1] , he described the history of the department at which he worked. Co-author of the textbook for universities "Historical Chronology."
Since 2002 lives in St. Petersburg. He worked as lead editor of the publishing house “ Terra Fantastica ”, preparing editors for the publishing houses AST , EKSMO , Azbuka , Lenizdat , Lan . Since 2006 - Senior Researcher at the St. Petersburg branch of the Institute of the History of Natural Science and Technology named after S. I. Vavilov . Member of the Coordination Council of the St. Petersburg Union of Scientists, editorial boards of the journals "Historical and Biological Research" (in the early years of this journal, from 2009 to 2012, held the position of responsible secretary) and "Spring of Knowledge".
In 1985, he organized in Kazan the still existing Fiction Literature Club “Wanderers” and managed it until 2002. From the mid-80s to 1991, Andrei Ermolaev annually traveled to the Aelita festival. In 1991 he initiated the festival of fiction and role-playing games “ Zilantcon ” in Kazan, was the chairman of the organizing committee of this festival for ten years. In 2000, the anniversary year for Zilatkon, he gave the management of the organizing committee to Boris Fetisov, since that time he has been honorary President of the festival and co-chairman of the jury of the Bolshoy Zilant literary prize. In 2002-2004 - member of the organizing committee of the convention "Wanderer" . From 2005 to 2011 - Deputy Chairman of the Interprescon Convention Organizing Committee. Since 2005 - President of the St. Petersburg CLF “The Third Half”. Since 2011 - Honorary Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the St. Petersburg Fantastic Assembly. Compiled by the most complete bibliography of Robert Heinlein in Russian [2] .
