The body of a cylindrical shape reaches a length of 20 to 45 cm, a diameter of 6 cm. It has a flattened base with three longitudinal rows of tubular legs. The skin is rough. The body color is brown, the surface is covered with numerous conical spikes of dark color [1] [2] .
The species is common in the Mediterranean Sea. It lives on a sandy bottom in temperate regions at a depth of 5.5 to 53 m, with a water temperature of 16.3 to 19.2 ° C and salinity of 37.5 to 38 ‰ [3] .
It feeds on detritus , algae and plankton [4]. Holothuria uses its tubular legs to move on the surface or hold on stones [1] .
