Baron Lucas is the peer of England , created twice in British history. The second creation exists at the present time along with the title of Lord Dingwall ( peer of Scotland ).

The Barons of Lucas, First Creation (1645)
The title of Baron Lucas from Shenfield in Essex was created on January 13, 1645 for Sir John Lucas (1606–1671), a royalist officer during the Civil War in England . He was succeeded by his nephew Charles Lucas, 2nd Baron Lucas (1631–1688). In 1705, after the death of Robert Lucas, 3rd Baron Lucas (1649-1705), the baronial title was interrupted.
- 1645-1671: John Lucas, 1st Baron Lucas (October 1606 - July 2, 1671), second son of Sir Thomas Lucas (d. 1625 ) and Elizabeth Leighton
- 1671–1688: Charles Lucas, 2nd Baron Lucas (1631–1688), eldest son of Sir Thomas Lucas (1598–1649), elder brother of 1st Baron Lucas, had no sons.
- 1688-1705: Robert Lucas, 3rd Baron Lucas (c. 1649-1705), younger brother of the previous one, unmarried.
Barons Lucas, Second Creation (1663)
In 1663, the title of Baron Lucas of Croodwell (county Wiltshire ) was created at the request of John Lucas, 1st Baron Lucas, for his daughter Mary, Countess of Kent (d. 1702), wife of Anthony Gray, 11th Earl of Kent (1645— 1702). In 1702, the title of the baron was inherited by their son Henry Gray, 12th Earl of Kent (1671-1740), who received the titles of the 1st Marquis of Kent (1706), the 1st Duke of Kent (1710) and the 1st Marquis of Gray (1740 )
In 1718, the baronial title was given to Anthony, Earl of Harold (1695-1723), the eldest son of the 1st Duke of Kent. After his death, the title returned to his father, Henry Gray, 1st Duke of Kent. In 1740, the baronial title was inherited by his granddaughter Jemima Campbell (1723–1797), daughter of John Campbell, 3rd Earl of Bredalbane and Holland (1696–1782), and Emable Gray (d. 1726 ), the eldest daughter of the 1st Duke of Kent. Jemima Campbell, who became the wife of Philip York, 2nd Earl of Hardwick (1720-1790), became the 2nd Marquise Gray and the 4th Baroness Lucas of Croodwell.
In 1797, after the death of Jemima, York, the title of Marquise Gray was interrupted, and the title of Baron Lucas passed to her eldest daughter, Email (1750-1833), Lady Polvart, widow of Alexander, Lord Polwart (1750-1781), the eldest son of the 3rd Earl Marchmont. In 1816, she was granted the title of Countess de Gray from Wrest Park in Bedfordshire ( United Kingdom ), with the right to transfer the title to her sister Mary Jemima (widow of the 2nd Baron Grantham ) and her male regiment heirs.
In 1833, after the death of Lady Email Polwart, the titles of Count Gray and Baron Lucas passed to her nephew , Thomas de Gray, 3rd Baron Grantham (1781-1859), who became 2nd Earl Gray and 6th Baron Lucas. In 1859, after the death of the last, Earl Gray was inherited by his nephew George Frederick Robinson, 1st Marquis Ripon (1827-1909), and the baronial title was inherited by his daughter Ann Florence Cooper, Countess Cooper (1806-1880), the widow of George Cooper, 6th Earl of Cooper (1806-1856), who became the 7th Baroness Lucas. In 1880, she was succeeded by her eldest son, Francis Cooper, the 7th Earl of Cooper (1834-1905), who became the 8th Baron Lucas. In 1871 he received the titles of the 3rd Baron Butler ( peer of England ) and the 4th Lord Dingwall ( peer of Scotland ).
In 1905, after the death of Francis Cooper , the titles of Earl Cooper, Baron Cooper and Baron Butler were interrupted, the titles of Baron Lucas and Lord Dingwall passed to his nephew Oberon Herbert (1876-1916), grandson of Henry Herbert, 3rd Earl of Carnarvon, who became 9th Earl Baron Lucas and 5th Lord Dingwall. In 1907, the House of Lords Privilege Committee approved it in these titles. He was succeeded by sister Nan Ino Cooper, 10th Baroness Lucas and 6th Ice Dingwall (1880–1958), then her daughter Ann Rosemary Palmer, 11th Baroness Lucas and 7th Lady Dingwall (1919–1991) and the son of the latter Ralph Matthew Palmer, 12th Baron Lucas and 8th Lord Dingwall (born 1951 ).

- 1859-1880: Anne Florence Cooper, Countess Cooper, 7th Baroness Lucas (June 8, 1806 - July 25, 1880), the eldest daughter of Thomas Philippe de Gray, 2nd Earl of Gray (1781-1859), 1st husband Peter Leopold Louis Francis Nassau Cooper, 5th Earl of Cooper (1778–1837).
- 1880-1905: Francis Thomas de Gray Cooper, 7th Earl of Cooper, 8th Baron Lucas and 4th Lord Dingwall (June 11, 1834 - July 18, 1905), the eldest son of the previous
- 1905–1916: Oberon Thomas Herbert, 9th Baron Lucas and 5th Lord Dingwall (May 25, 1876 - November 3, 1916), son of Oberon Edward William Molino Herbert (1838–1906) and husband of Lady Florence Emailable Cooper (1837–1886 ), daughter of the 6th Earl of Cooper.
- 1916-1958: Nan Ino Cooper, 10th Baroness Lucas and 6th Lady Dingwall (June 13, 1880 - November 23, 1958), sister of the previous
