19th Air Defense Fighter Army

The 19th Air Defense Fighter Army ( 19th VIA Air Defense ) is the operational association of the USSR Air Defense Forces, designed to provide air defense missions independently and in cooperation with other branches of the Armed Forces and the combat arms of the USSR Armed Forces.

Formation

The air fighter army was formed in connection with the decision of the USSR Government on the reorganization of the country's air defense system in February 1946 [1] .

Reformation

In accordance with the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief [2], the 19th Air Defense Fighter Army was renamed the 78th Air Defense Fighter Army .
