Player Career

The greatest success was achieved in the Brazilian Atletico Mineiro , in which he won four times the League of Mineiro (Championship of the State of Minas Gerais ) [2] .

For the national team of Brazil, he spent 6 games and scored 1 goal [3] .

Coach Career

In 2011-2012, he worked at the Koritiba club. Twice won with the team League Paranaense (state championship of Parana ).

In December 2012, he headed the Cruzeiro . In the first season ( 2013 ) he led the team to the championship. In the 2014 season , Cruzeiro defended his title. The Blues also won the Mineiro League ( Minas Gerais State Championship). The season 2015, the team began extremely unsuccessfully: one draw and three defeats in the championship. As a result, on June 2, 2015, Marcelo Oliveira was fired [4] .

June 15, 2015 led the Palmeiras [5] . On March 9, 2016, after the end of the home match of the group stage of the 2016 Libertadores Cup against Uruguayan Nacional (1: 2), the technical director of Palmeiras Alexandre Mattos announced the coach’s dismissal [6] .
