Biography
In 1986, he graduated from the Physics and Mathematics School No. 40 and entered the correspondence department of the Faculty of History of the GSU . In 1987-1990 he served in the Red Banner Pacific Fleet . Demobilized as a foreman of the second article. In 1994 he graduated with honors from the Faculty of History of UNN.
In 1997, under the leadership of A. V. Sedov, he defended his thesis "Nizhny Novgorod Cadets in 1905-1917: the regional experience of the parliamentary party." In 2007 he defended his doctoral thesis "The Constitutional Democratic Party in 1905-1917: the economic program and relations with the bourgeoisie."
In 1997–2014, he worked at the Department of Russian History of the pre-Soviet period and local history of the Faculty of History of the UNN, including in 2007–2014 as a head. Since 2014, after the unification of the Faculty of History and the Faculty of International Relations - Professor of the Department of Foreign Regional Studies and Local History of the Institute of International Relations and World History (IMOMI), Head of the Center for Local Studies of the IMOMI UNN. Member of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation on History (since 2018).
Scientific Activities
The interests of F. A. Seleznev include: the history of the Constitutional Democratic Party , the theory of elites , the history of Old Believers , the biography of P. I. Melnikov-Pechersky [1] [2] , the economic history of Russia and the Nizhny Novgorod region, the political history of Russia at the beginning of XX century, the history of the Nizhny Novgorod folk arts , the biography of Yuri Dolgoruky , the foundation of Gorodets on the Volga.
According to the concept of F. A. Seleznev, the main elements of the ideology of the Cadet Party were: 1) populist evolutionary socialism; 2) social liberalism . In accordance with the Narodnik attitudes, the Cadets were hostile to Russian industry as an artificial outcome of the policies of the tsarist government. As a rule, they were on anti-bourgeois positions, opposed to open, politically formed cooperation with leaders and organizations of the business community.
F. A. Seleznev - editor-compiler of the Nizhny Novgorod Encyclopedia of Industry and Entrepreneurship (2011), three-volume book The History of Popular Artistic Trades and Crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region (2011); books for extracurricular reading on the history of the Nizhny Novgorod region "Glorious past of the Nizhny Novgorod land" (2013). Winner of the Nizhny Novgorod Prize in the nomination "Regional Studies" (2003 [3] , 2012 [4] , and in the nomination "Education" 2018 [5] . Since 2012, he has headed the society "Nizhny Novgorod local historian", responsible editor of a collection of scientific articles: "Nizhny Novgorod local historian ", Ed. In Nizhny Novgorod (2015. - Vol.1; 2016.- Vol. 2; 2017- Vol.3). Participated in the creation of an educational-methodical kit [6] on the history of the Nizhny Novgorod region for secondary schools [7] .
