Giovanni Battista Zannoni ( Italian: Giovanni Battista Zannoni ; 1744 - 1832 ) - Italian archaeologist .
He was the keeper of antiquities in the Uffizi Florentine gallery and the secretary of the Krusk Academy . Following in his footsteps in the footsteps of Lanzi, he studied the history of the Etruscans and their language; the result of these studies were books:
- "Degli Etruschi" (Florence, 1812);
- “Illustratione di due urne etrusche” (Flor., 1826);
- "Saggio di lingua etrusca" (Florence, 1829).
An important contribution to science is the documents published by Cannoni: “Inscriptionum libri II” (Flor., 1815-1822). In addition, Zannoni wrote the history of the Academy of Krusk and panegyrics to some of its members (Lanzi, Visconti) and took a prominent part in the collective work “Realle galeria di Firenze” (1810 and the words, 13 vols.).
