The season 2015/2016 was for the Spartak Moscow football club 94th in its history. The team took part in the 24th championship of the country and in the 24th cup draw . Spartak Moscow also took part in its 39th season in European Cup tournaments, as it took 5th place in the championship.

Team 2015/16

Season Timeline

  • On May 26, 2015, the Board of Directors of Spartak decided on the early termination of powers of the club’s director general, Roman Askhabadze [1] .
  • On May 30, 2015, the head coach of Spartak Murat Yakin left his post. The club management and a Swiss specialist decided to terminate the relationship by mutual agreement [2] .
  • On June 2, 2015 Sergey Rodionov took over the post of General Director of Spartak. The decision was made by the club’s board of directors [3] [4] .
  • On June 10, 2015, the club announced the appointment of Dmitry Alenichev [5] to the post of head coach of the team. It was also announced the approval of Yegor Titov and Dmitry Ananko as assistants to Dmitry Alenichev as head coach of the red and white [6] .
  • On July 9, 2015, the La Fiorita team from San Marino , living in the same hotel (Santis Park) with the Moscow Spartak in training camp in Switzerland , tried to steal the uniform from the Russian team. [7]
  • July 14, 2015 was an open day. In the presence of two thousand fans at the Otkrytie Arena, Anatoly Isaev, who turned 83 on July 14, was honored, showed a new uniform, the distinguishing feature of which was the return of the horizontal white stripe, and presented newcomers - Ivelina Popova, Vladimir Granat and Ze Luis.   • On September 21, 2015, the Golden Foot International Award Ceremony was held in Monte Carlo, where the laureates leave their marks on the Walk of Fame. Extract from the regulations [45] :

Clause 17.3. In case of equality of points for two or more teams, the places of teams in the Championship table are determined:

- by the greatest number of victories in all matches;
- according to the results of the games among themselves (the number of points, the number of victories, the difference of goals scored and conceded, the number of goals scored, the number of goals scored in a foreign field);
- according to the best difference of goals scored and conceded goals in all matches;
- by the largest number of goals scored in all matches;
- by the largest number of goals scored on foreign fields in all matches.

Clause 17.4. With the absolute equality of all these indicators, the places of teams in the final standings are determined in an additional match (tournament) between these teams.

UEFA Youth League 2015/16

Main article: UEFA Youth League

From Russia, which occupies the 7th position in the UEFA rating after the 2014/15 season, the Spartak youth squad took part in the tournament for the first time [47] . Red and white participated in the tournament as winners of the youth championship of their country (U17) [48] . Wards of Vladimir Beschastnykh at the end of September started in the rally from the first round of the playoffs.
