History
The structure of the present Lenin street includes the former Rozhdestvenskaya and Novo-Moskovskaya streets. Novo-Moskovskaya went from the Tesha River to the intersection with Mostovaya Street (now Volodarsky Street ). Rozhdestvenskaya Street was a continuation of Novo-Moskovskaya and went further east. Novo-Moskovskaya street was so named due to the fact that it, like Staro-Moskvoskaya street (now Uritskogo street ), went to the Moscow highway. Christmas Street was called so by the Church of the Nativity of Christ located on it. After the October Revolution, Rozhdestvenskaya Street was renamed Lenin Street, and Novo-Moskovskaya Street - 22 April Street . On April 16, 1938, April 22 Street became part of Lenin Street [1] .
