Biography
Born on August 9, 1958 in Istanbul . Her father Yashar worked as a taxi driver. She got married in 1975, at the age of 17. The marriage was short-lived and broke up after she gave birth to her first son. She got a job at a cosmetics company. In 1990, she decided to become a professional singer and took the pseudonym Muazzze Ersoy . Her first album, entitled "Seven Olmaz ki", was released a year later. In 1995, she released a series of albums called "Nostalji".
Received many awards in Turkey [2] . She became the UN Goodwill Ambassador in 2006 [3] .
