Jane Chen, an American of Taiwanese descent, was born in 1978. She received school education in Upland , California , after studying at Pomona College, Harvard and Stanford . She worked in the healthcare sector in developing countries, collaborating with nonprofit organizations, including the Clinton Foundation [1] .
During their studies at Stanford, a group of students including Chen, Rahul Paniker , Linus Liana and Nagananda Murti, on the instructions of the teacher, were developing a children's incubator suitable for use in poor areas of developing countries [2] . A year later, the team opened Embrace, and later - Embrace Innovation. The first is a non-profit organization that provides incubators with clinics in the poorest districts for free, the second, a commercial organization of social entrepreneurship , sells them to those clinics that can afford it, and transfers part of the revenue to Embrace [3] . Since the founding of Embrace Innovations in 2012, Chen has been an executive director of the company [4] .
In 2013, the Schwab Social Entrepreneurship Fund named Chen one of the social entrepreneurs of the year [5] , Forbes magazine included her among the 30 major social entrepreneurs in the world [6] .
