Jacaranda Health is an American-Kenyan social enterprise that, through the construction of small private maternity hospitals and clinics, seeks to make pregnancy and childbirth safer for women, and high-quality and affordable healthcare more affordable for people in remote areas of Africa. Jacaranda Health places particular emphasis on vast suburban areas with low incomes, poor sanitation and limited access to health services, where the death rate of women during childbirth is particularly high. The Jacaranda Health model of medical services (including insurance and installment plans ) provides services to women five times cheaper than other private clinics [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] .
