Karen Robertovich Akopov (born May 23, 1956 ) is a Russian opera singer, bass, and Honored Artist of Russia.

Biographical information
Karen Robertovich Akopov was born on May 23, 1956 in Shanghai , where his parents worked at that time. In 1957, at the end of the trip, the family returned to Leningrad , where Karen graduated from high school in 1973, and in 1979 the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute .
In 1976–81 studied at the Music School for Adults named. N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov in the solo singing class of V. G. Ulyanov, as a student at the Shipbuilding Institute. In 1988 he graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory. Rimsky-Korsakov in the class of People's Artist of the USSR N.P. Okhotnikov .
From 1988 to the present, the soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg. During his studies at the conservatory, he also performed on the stage of the looking-glass theater. After the resumption of worship in 1988 in the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, he sang in the church choir [1] .
Repertoire
During his studies at the Conservatory, Karen Akopov performed the roles of Melnik ( “The Mermaid” by A. S. Dargomyzhsky ) and Malyuta (“The Tsar’s Bride” by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov ). In those same years, he performed the parts of the Bad Man (opera by L. Desyatnikov) and the General (opera by S. Banevich) at the theater “Through the Looking Glass”. Since 1988, Karen Akopov is a soloist of the Maly Opera House, where he performed almost all the leading parts of the bass repertoire [2]
