Geography
It is located 9 kilometers northeast of the district center of Peno .
History
In the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries, the village of Zaevo belonged to the Ovselugsky parish and was the center of the Zaevsky volost of the Ostashkovsky district of the Tver province . In 1889, there were 79 courtyards, 429 residents, and a zemstvo school (founded in 1886). Crafts of residents: timber rafting, collection and sale of birch bark, carriage.
According to the 1920 census in Zaevo - 81 yard, 453 residents.
In 1940, Zaevo was the center of the village council of the Penovsky district of the Kalinin region .
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied in October 1941, liberated in January 1942.
In 1997 - 47 households, 138 residents.
