The animated series about the life of small locomotives, which, like little human children, explore the world around them, struggle with their fears, believe in miracles, are friends and, of course, they want their parents to return from work early. ^[one]

They live in the magical city of Parovozovsk, whose inhabitants are locomotives and motor cars.

The heroes of the cartoon are Tishka and his friends - Gosha, Sapsanchik, Elka, Swallow, Tsvetastik, Baton and other small locomotives.

Basic

• Tishka - the protagonist of the animated series. The most optimistic of steam trains and always ready for adventure, because of which he gets into trouble. The leader of the trains. His dream is to go to space .
• Gosh is Tishka's best friend. The smartest train. Loves to read books and do experiments. A little scattered. Wears red glasses.
• Suvorik is Tishka's friend. The highest and strongest train. Dislikes his friends being hurt. Bezloben. Wears a black cap.
• Elka - Tishka's girlfriend. Perfectionist. Secretly in love with Tishka. Goes to the literary circle.
• Swallow is Elka's best friend. "New" among the trains. It was quickly accepted as its own.
• Sapsanchik - the main antagonist of the animated series. The leader of the group of trains, hooligans. He really likes Elka. His rival is Tishka.

Secondary

• Minutych - the main city clock. He always stands in one place and knows almost everything - who and where should go.
• Tsvetstik - Sapsanchik's best friend and his "right hand". A fan of racing. The most racing train.
• Baton is the meek friend of Sapsanchik. Always listening to music and chewing gum .
• Tishka's mother is a good train. Tishka loves her very much, but does not often obey her. She is slightly scattered. Tishka's dad always forgives her.
• Papa Tishki is a powerful electric locomotive. Often travels on business trips. The embodiment of power, kindness and justice.
• Vasilich is the oldest steam locomotive in Parovozovsk. It looks strict, but kind at heart. He survived two wars and participated in them.

Episodic

• Elka's mother is a medical train. She works day and night, so Elka is often alone.
• A policeman is a police locomotive in Parovozovsk. Without it, not a single important event takes place.
• Dryna - trolley , which is overly curious and cunning. Everywhere climbs. There is a younger sister of Tryn.
• Tryna is a trolley that is stupid and harmful. Always dirty.
• Sapsan senior - father of Sapsanchik. Strict express locomotive. Speaks with a light foreign accent. Has many awards.
• The teacher is the mother of the Sapsanchik. Stylish pink train. Arranges all sorts of activities for children.
• The musician is the best friend of Vasilich. He likes to play waltzes and marches. Participates in parades. Children love him.
• General - grandfather of Suvorik. He seems strict to everyone, but in fact he is very tired.
• Aunt Tovah is a merry and kind steam engine. Bakes delicious cakes.
• Gosha's dad is a scientist. Looks like his wife.
• Gosha's mom is a sort of intellectual living apart from reality .

Sound recording is recorded at the Pythagoras Studios, a dubbing studio that appeared in the early 1990s and was one of the first in Russia to begin using computer technology.

Most of the cartoon characters are voiced by children, many of whom have clearly indistinct diction. Several characters are voiced by famous actors.

“Tishka” ... unlike the ambitious “ Fixics ” or “ Masha and the Bear ”, designed to conquer our and foreign peaks of spectator demand ... budget work, modest in tasks and yet very high-quality ... do not cause unrestrained fanaticism neither in children nor in adults and creates a cultural background of childhood.

At the same time, Maria Telechenko also noticed that the problem of the series is, no matter how funny, the lack of rails , which is surprising for the small audience. And despite the fact that it is precisely because of this that the series has an advantage over the animated series “ Funny Train from Chaggington ” or “ Cars ” - the characters of “Tishka’s Train” can live in houses, chase along the highway, collect flowers and even climb trees, but it is precisely by this “humanization” of the characters that the series loses the target audience of boys, who are interested in the “machine” world. ^[one]

The series participated in the program of the festival of animated films KROK -2013 ^[4] . Reviewing Novaya Gazeta Larisa Malyukova, reviewing the program of this festival, noted that the series fluctuates between following one of two samples: “A train from Romashkov ” and “ Funny trains from Chaggington ”, drawing also on numerous branches of the plot “about kittens and hippos”, as well as sports series, dedicated to the upcoming then Sochi Olympics ^[5] .

Since June 4, 2015, the cartoon, along with a number of other television series, has been banned from being shown on the territory of Ukraine: the state cinema agency of Ukraine has seen elements of “popularizing Russian power structures” in it ^{[6] [7]} .
