Vuorela is known as the author of novels for teens “Wiima” (2006), “Usva” (2009) and “Pitfall” (Fin. Karikko) (2012). Also paired with Niyna Revo, she wrote five more novels for teenagers [1] . Vuorela became the first laureate of the Nordic Literary Prize for Children and Youth Literature in 2013 together with illustrator Jani Ikonen [2] .
Vuorela's works have been translated into Swedish , French , English , Italian and German [3] . Excerpts from the novels “Usva” and “Promise” (jointly with Niyna Revo) were translated into Russian . Translations were published in the collection “Good Neighbors” (Fin. Hyvät naapurit) in 2012 [4] .
