Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo (also known as Pokrovskoe-Glebovo ) is a natural-historical park in the north-west of Moscow . The park area is 222 hectares [1] .

Geographical location
The Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo Forest Park is located in the north-west of Moscow, with a park bordering the Khimki Reservoir , the Leningradskoye Highway , the Moscow Circular Railway Line and the Volokolamskoe Highway . In the north-west the Khimka River flows, in which a large number of waterfowl, beavers, and muskrats live. In the southeast there is a cascade of seven flow ponds in the bed of the Chernushka River.
History
Named in honor of the Pokrovskoe Manor - Glebovo-Streshnevo, which is located on this territory and is an Ensemble-Object of Cultural Heritage of Federal Importance.
In 1978, he was declared a monument of landscape architecture [2] . On July 21, 1998, by Resolution of the City of Moscow No. 564, a specially protected natural area, the natural historical park Pokrovskoe Streshnevo, was formed from a part of the Forest Park. Within the boundaries of PAs there are two natural monuments. This is the Khimki River Valley and the Springs in the Khimki River Valley
The park is equipped for children playgrounds: swings, slides [3] . In the forest park of the estate remained: the main house, founded in the 1800s; additions made at the end of the XIX century; The greenhouse, built in the XVIII — XIX centuries; a church erected in 1750 using fragments of the walls of the 1620s; fence of the late XIX century.
Above the springs on the Elizabeth Hill, the foundations of the Elizavetino Pavilion of 1770, which burned down during the Great Patriotic War, remained. Foundations are used as a campfire site, bricks are being pulled apart, and supervisors do not pay enough attention to this.
In the summer of 2017, under the pretext of cleaning ponds, the destruction of the park's ecosystem began [ neutrality? ] . Almost all coastal vegetation was destroyed, where in 2018 the red-book birds, moorhen and coot, did not arrive in their usual habitats. Work has begun on laying the overtaking manifold. The ecological state of the park is of concern to the Public Popular Front of Moscow [4] , ecologists, creative intelligentsia, politicians [5] [6] [7] , [8] .
Flora and fauna
In the forest park there is a cascade of ponds, in which several decades ago it was allowed to swim, and springs with drinking water [3] .
Among the trees here grow: pines, oaks, birch, linden, aspen, elm, maple and larch [3] . Forest area 62%, 150 hectares. The average age is 90 years. On the river Khimke black alder trees grow. There are 200 species of flora. The rarest ones are: lily of the valley, crested hen, beetle broadleaf and nettle-leaf [2] .
80 species of fauna: squirrels, hedgehogs, moles. Rare birds: desirable, Muscovy, long-tailed tit, small flycatcher, tawny owl. Ponds occupied by waterfowl, their feeding is allowed [3] [2] .
In 2017, a rare mushroom was discovered by an amateur mycologist in the park, Xilaria Vries [9] .
Transportation
The nearest metro and ICC stations are Voykovskaya , Streshnevo and Baltic . You can walk (15 min.) From the Voikovskaya metro station to get to the ponds, or from the Voikovskaya metro station trolley buses No. 6 and 43 run to the Lebed Cinema and Concert Hall, if you want to go to the spring. From Streshnevo it takes about 10-20 minutes on average, there is no public transport as an alternative to the park. From the Baltic station to the park is the shortest route. Near the manor and the entrance to the park stop the tram number 6, trolley buses number 70 and 82, buses № m1, 88, 456, 904 and 904k.
Excursions
