Karl Immanuel Nitsch ( German: Karl Immanuel Nitzsch ; August 21, 1787 , Born - September 21, 1868 , Berlin ) - German Protestant theologian, philosopher, historian, teacher and writer.

Karl was born in the city of Born near Leipzig . His father was a Protestant theologian - Karl Ludwig Nitsch ; at the time of the birth of his son, Karl Ludwig was a pastor and superintendent in Born; later, in 1790, Karl Ludwig became a professor at Wittenberg , and even later, in 1817, he became the first director of the Royal Prussian Gospel Theology Seminary in Wittenberg . Karl Immanuel's mother was Louise Eleanor Gattlieb Wernsdorf ( German: Luise Elenore Gottliebe Wernsdorf ). The eldest brother of Karl Immanuel was Nitsch, Christian Ludwig - a zoologist; and the youngest was Gregor Wilhelm Nitsch - a famous philologist.
In 1803, Karl was sent to study at the Pfort Land School ; after leaving school, in 1806, Karl went to study at the University of Wittenberg to study philosophy, philology and theology, and he graduated in 1810; in 1810, Karl went through habilitation and became a privat-docent at the university. In 1811, Carl became the third deacon in the parish church . During the siege of the city in 1813, Carl showed remarkable energy and zeal. Karl continues to teach at the university during the French occupation of Wittenberg, in 1815 he was appointed a mentor at the seminary that was established in Wittenberg after the university closed. In 1815, Karl moved to Berlin , where he became a doctor of theology. From 1820 to 1822, Karl was probst and superintendent in Kemberg , and in the last year he was appointed professor of systematic and practical theology at the University of Bonn .
In Bonn, Karl showed himself as a follower of the ideas of Friedrich Schleiermacher and a supporter of Mediocre theology , he sought to reconcile faith with knowledge. Karl was a university preacher and second clergyman of the city of Bonn, a delegate to the Mülheim district Synod (since 1824), a member (since 1835), and then vice president (since 1838) in the Rhine province of the Synod of the Evangelical Church in Prussia. Karl was a supporter of overcoming the differences of confessionalism and liberalism. In 1847, Nitsch was sent to the University of Berlin, where in 1848-49 he was rector of the university.
His son: Friedrich August Berthold Nitsch - theologian, philosopher, historian, teacher and writer.
