The International Football Federation ( Fédération internationale de football association , abbr. FIFA , in Russian transliteration - FIFA ) is the main football organization, which is the largest international governing body in football . FIFA's headquarters is located in the Swiss city of Zurich . At the moment, the president of the organization is Gianni Infantino .

The first president of FIFA was Robert Guerin , who held this position from May 23, 1904 to June 4, 1906 . During his presidency, eight national football associations joined FIFA.
At the third FIFA Congress in 1906 in Bern , the capital of Switzerland , the second president of the organization was elected. He became a former member of the Football Association of England, Daniel Wolfall . As president, he was actively involved in spreading the influence of FIFA and expanding its geography. Woolfall remained the president of FIFA until his death in August 1918.
The third president was Jules Rimet, founder of the Red Star Paris football club. Under him, world football championships began to be held.
