Paleev, Nikolai Romanovich

Nikolai Romanovich Paleev (born May 15, 1929 ) is a Soviet and Russian physician - therapist , doctor of medical sciences, professor , academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 2013 (before that - academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences - Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR since 1988). Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1973).

Biography

Born in the family of a soldier. He graduated from the 1st Moscow Medical Institute (1953). In 1953 - 1957 he worked as a chief physician in the village of Taimylyr in Yakutia . In 1955-1957 he also participated in the first Soviet Antarctic expedition as a doctor and scientific researcher [1] . In 1957-1960 , he completed postgraduate studies at the Institute of Therapy of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (under the supervision of Academician A. L. Myasnikov [2] ). In the period from 1961 to 1969 he was an assistant and assistant professor at the Department of Hospital Therapy at the 1st Moscow Medical Institute. In 1968 he defended his doctoral dissertation entitled "The possibilities of electro-radiography in the diagnosis of diseases of the cardiovascular system and respiratory system." From 1969 to today, he has been working as the head of the therapeutic clinic of the Moscow Regional Scientific Research Clinical Institute named after M.F. Vladimirsky (MONIKI), part-time also working as the head of the therapy department of the Department of Physics and Medicine MONIKI, and since 1991 he is also the head of the Department of Pulmonology in Moscow Medical Academy. M. I. Sechenov (formerly the 1st Moscow Medical Institute) [3] [4] .

Paleev is an honorary member of the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts, Serbian Medical Academy, an honorary professor at the Universities of Rome, Belgrade and Pristina, a member of the Academic Council of the Campus Bio-Medico International University (Italy), a member and consultant of the Center for Pulmonary Hypertension and the Bezhaniska International Council Kosa ”(Serbia) and other scientific organizations [5] .

For some time he was the chief editor of the publishing house "Medicine" (since 1984 ) [3] , now he is the chief editor of the "Medknigi" (since 2006 ) [6] . In 1986, he was elected a corresponding member, and in 1988 he became an academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR [4] , which later became the RAMS, with the addition of which in 2013 N.R. Paleev became an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences .

  • Sons:
    • Philip (born 1974) - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy Director General of the National Medical Research Center of Cardiology of the Russian Ministry of Health for Scientific and Analytical Work [7] .
    • Roman (born 1975) - Doctor of Law, head of one of the departments of the Central Bank of the Central Bank of Russia Central Federal District.
  • Five grandchildren.
