The Battle of Kolb's Farm , one of the battles of the Battle of Atlanta during the American Civil War , took place on June 22, 1864 near the Kolba Farm in Georgia. It was an accidental clash during the battles around Marietta that arose as a result of an attempt by General Joseph Johnston , commander of the Tennessee Army , to cover his left flank. The task was completed, but as a result of excessive risk and poorly organized intelligence, the corps of Lieutenant General John Bell Hood suffered heavy losses.
