Known for editing the biography of Muhammad (“Kitab sirat rasul-Allah”, “The book about the life of the messenger of Allah”), compiled by Ibn Ishaq (died in 768 ); published by Bustenfeld (2 vols., Gettin., 1858 - 1860 ), translated into German by Gustav Weil (Weil, Stuttgart, 1864 ). In the work Sire, a valuable source on the history of Islam, it describes events from the life of the prophet Muhammad and the caliphs.
