Commemorative coins of Uzbekistan

Coat of arms of Uzbekistan

Commemorative coins are issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan from precious metals (denominations of 10, 50 and 100 soums ), base metals (denominations of 25, 50, 100, 500 soums), as well as base metals coated with gold (denominations of 1 and 10 soums), starting since 1994, when in honor of the third anniversary of the country's independence, two types of coins were issued in denominations of 10 soums.

On the official website of the bank, all coins are divided into two sections “Coins” [1] and “Commemorative coins” [2] .

Seven coins from the “Coins” section are dedicated to commemorative anniversary events, however, only five of them are called “commemorative” or “commemorative anniversary” in the description. Issues of 1997-1999 coins indicated in the “Commemorative Coins” section of the bank’s website are not dedicated to specific anniversaries.

All coins are minted at the Tashkent Mint .
