2009 Winter Throwing Cup

The 2009 Winter Throwing European Cup was held March 14-15 in Los Realejos and Puerto de la Cruz , resort towns on the island of Tenerife , Spain . Competitions were held at the municipal stadium of Los Realejos and the throwing field in Puerto de la Cruz. The tournament program included shot put , discus throw , hammer throw and javelin throw . 4 team Cups were played: among men and women in the absolute age category and among youth under 23 years of age (born 1987 and younger). The competition was attended by 226 throwers from 29 countries in Europe.

Each country could expose up to 2 people in each discipline among adults and one among young people. The team scored the best result in each type of throwing, after which he was transferred to points using the IAAF International Results Translation Table. The winners and prize-winners in the team standings of the Cup were determined by the sum of the points received.

a On November 15, 2017, the IAAF announced the annulment of the results of the Belarusian nuclear pusher Nadezhda Ostapchuk . Her doping test taken at the 2008 Olympics , after rechecking eight years later, turned out to be positive.
