Mikhail Stepanovich Mostovsky (1838—?) - Russian teacher, geographer, theater connoisseur, scientific writer. He served as the ruler of the office of the Moscow Governor General [1] .

In 1862 he graduated from Moscow University . He taught geography at the 3rd Moscow gymnasium [2] , then entered the civil service. He was the head of the artistic circle and a large theater-goer . He was a teacher of Vlas Doroshevich , who in 1903 dedicated to his anniversary an article published in the journal "Russian Word". He was also the ruler of the office for the construction of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior [3] .
