Biography
Born in the Verkh-Isetsk plant of the Perm province (now the district of Yekaterinburg ) on June 24, 1892 . After graduating from the Yekaterinburg 1st female gymnasium with a gold medal in 1908, she taught at the school for several years. Since 1912, Margarita Mitrofanovna studied at the Higher Women's Agricultural Courses in St. Petersburg, which she graduated in 1918. Then she continued her studies at the Agricultural Academy named after I.A. Stebut, she graduated in 1923.
From 1922 to 1932, M. M. Sovetkina worked at the Institute of Soil Science and Geobotany of the Central Asian State University , was engaged in scientific work on geobotany, and also taught at the biological, agricultural, and engineering and land reclamation faculties. Then, until 1938, - in the Central Asian branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Feed .
In 1940, Margarita Mitrofanovna received a doctorate in biological sciences, defending her thesis “Pastures and Haymaking of Central Asia”. Since 1946, she was a professor at the Department of Systematics and Geography of Higher Plants of the Faculty of Biology, SAGU.
M. M. Sovetkina traveled many times in Central Asia and South Kazakhstan.
On February 6, 1950, after a long illness, Margarita Mitrofanovna Sovetkina died.
