Beatotherapy

Alla Semenovna Spivakovskaya developed her own direction in psychotherapy - beatotherapy [9] . Beatotherapy (from beatus - happy, blissful, blessed) - psychotherapy of happiness .

Beatotherapy, offering substantiation of psychological conditions for a person’s movement to happiness, makes an important step from studying psychotherapy of borderline conditions and neurotic disorders to laying the foundations of psychotherapeutic work with healthy people.

The subject of beatotherapy is the inner world of a person and his daily life in the process of conscious self-observation and transformation.

The goal of beat therapy is to create conditions under which a person can consciously change himself and his life, reaching a state of happiness, as well as a psychological study of the laws of this process.

Objective: creating conditions for change so that a person changes himself in order to improve the quality of his life, fulfillment of personal growth, evolution.

In beatotherapy, it is postulated that self-observation can make a person happy. In order for a person to be able to effectively observe himself and become happy, various techniques are used:

  • diary method
  • fulfillment of specified exercises for self-observation.

Initially, a person does not know himself, his abilities. To become a participant in the beatotherapeutic process, he needs to admit that he does not know himself and take his life under conscious control.

Parent Relationship Types

Alla Semenovna Spivakovskaya developed a classification of the types of parental relationship based on three criteria: sympathy - antipathy, respect - disrespect, small interpersonal distance - large interpersonal distance [10] .

  1. Effective love (sympathy, respect, short interpersonal distance)
  2. detached love (sympathy, respect, long interpersonal distance)
  3. effective pity (sympathy, lack of respect, small interpersonal distance)
  4. love as an indulgent detachment (sympathy, disrespect, a large interpersonal distance)
  5. rejection (antipathy, disrespect, long interpersonal distance)
  6. contempt (antipathy, disrespect, a small interpersonal distance)
  7. persecution (antipathy, respect, short interpersonal distance)
  8. refusal (antipathy, respect, long interpersonal distance)
