Puig, Edson

Puig is a graduate of the Iquique and Huachipato Deportes clubs. He began his professional career in speaking up for these teams in the reverse order, but did not achieve much success. In 2009, Edson moved to Universidad de Chile . On July 23, in the match against Palestino , he debuted for a new team ^[1] . On August 2, Puig scored his first goal for Universidad in a duel against Union Espanyol ^[2] . In 2011, Edson helped the club win the Chilean Primeri .

In 2011, Puig moved to the Arabic Al-Wasl , at the invitation of team coach Diego Maradona . The transfer amount was 2.8 million euros. On October 16, in the match against Sharjah , he debuted in the Arab League of the Gulf countries ^[3] . In early 2012, Puig, on loan, returned to his native Deportes Iquique. In early 2016, Edson moved to the Ecuadorian LDU Quito . February 7 in the match against the " Dolphin ", he debuted in the Ecuadorian Example ^[6] . March 13, in a duel against Aukas , Puig scored his first goal for LDU Quito ^[7] .

In the summer, after a successful performance at the America's Cup, Edson moved to the Mexican Nekaksu . On July 17, in the match against Cruz Azul , he made his debut in the Mexican Example , replacing Jesus Ishihara in the second half ^[8] . On August 7, in a duel against UNAM, Pumas Puig scored his first goal for Necaxa ^[9] . In the summer of 2017, Edson moved to Pachuka . July 23 in the match against UNAM Pumas, he made his debut for the new team ^[10] . On August 6, Puig scored his first goal for Pachuca in a duel against Lobos BUAP ^[11] .

May 27, 2009 in the match Kirin Cup against the Japanese team Puig made his debut for the national team of Chile ^[12] .

In the summer of 2016, Edson won the America's Cup in the USA . He played in the tournament against Bolivia ^[13] , Panama ^[14] , Mexico ^[15] , Colombia ^[16] and Argentina ^[17] . In a duel against the Mexicans, Puig made a “double”, scoring his first goals for the national team.

In 2017, Puig became the silver winner of the Confederations Cup in Russia . He played in the tournament against Cameroon ^[18] and Germany ^[19] .
