Biography
Family
Born February 19, 1977 in the city of Avesta (flax of Dalarna). Parents: Lars Svensson, priest from Sorabu , and Birgitta Svensson, nurse (nee Skarin). Ola also has four brothers and sisters. Since childhood, he lived in the town of Rottne . At the age of four, he wrote the first song Raggarbilar [1] . He studied at a school with a musical bias at the Vöksjo Cathedral School , later moved to Malmo . Ola Salo took his stage name in 1996 as a palindrome of his name [2] .
Since November 2009, married to an old friend of Anneli Pekul. In 2010, their daughter Judith was born [3] [4] . On the night of November 18-19, 2015, the second daughter Miriam was born to the couple. [1] However, Salo does not hide his bisexual orientation [5] [6] . Is a vegetarian.
Musical career
Rolf Ola Anders Svensson created his band The Ark at the age of 14 in 1991, inviting his friends there: Lars Jungberg, Michael Yepson and Magnus Olsson. At the same time, he was an actor and singer at the Malmö Opera and Music Theater speaking in musicals “ Christina from Duemola "And" Violinist on the roof " [5] . In 2007, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Karl Linnaeus, Ola Salo performed a concert in Vöksjo on January 28 with the symphonic poem “Linnaeus Rex” (from the Latin “King Linnaeus”), playing it in Uppsala the same year.
In 2007, Ola Salo and his band The Ark won the Melodifestival with the song The Worrying Kind and went to Eurovision in Helsinki : Sweden, which made it to the Top 10 last year, automatically reached the final. The group performed at number 12 in the final, but took only 18th place with 51 points. Nevertheless, Salo continues his active musical activity and translates the rock opera " Jesus Christ is a superstar " into Swedish. The opera is staged from 2008 to 2009 in Malmö, from 2012 to 2013 it is shown at the Göta Lejon Theater in Stockholm , where Salo plays the role of Jesus. Since 2014, Sweden has been touring [7] .
In 2010, he was awarded the Union of Student Association of Singers for his contribution to music and the creation of many new artistic images that allowed to blur the line between old and new styles [8] .
On Radio and Television
Twice Salo spoke on the Swedish radio broadcast Sommar on the radio station Sveriges Radio P1 : July 16, 2003 and July 26, 2009 . He once performed in 2013 on the Sommarpratarna show on Sveriges Television . Since 2012, she has been a trainer for The Voice Sverige , the Swedish version of The Voice , an international music show. On November 2, 2013 , his rock opera Kult was staged on Swedish Radio. In 2014, he participated in the fifth season of the music show “Så mycket bättre” on TV4 . March 5, 2016 became the host of the show Melodifestivalen 2016 along with Gina Diravi and Peter Yebak.
