Gilet ( French Gilette ) - a commune in the south-east of France in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region , the Alpes-Maritimes department , Nice district , canton of Vence [1] . Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished canton of Rockesteron (Nice County).

Geographical position
The Municipality of Gilet is located at a distance of about 670 km southeast of Paris , about 160 km southeast of Marseille and about 19 km southwest of Nice , the administrative center of the Nice district [5] .
