Born in April 1947 in Folkestone . My childhood passed in York .

She graduated from Park Groe Elementary School. Secondary education received at Queen Anne's Grammar School for Girls .

She received a bachelor 's degree in humanities in English from University College of Wales . She worked as a teacher, seller and stand-up comedian .

In 1971, she became an intern and assistant editor at Marshall Cavendish .

In the 1980s, she became deputy editor-in-chief of the journal The Unexplained . She was the host on ITV Anglia channels and Southern Television .

In the 1990s, she was a guest curator conducted by the Royal Photographic Society exhibition "The Unexplained at Bath" and in 1999 at the National Media Museum .

In the early 1990s, Picknett met Clive Prince, who co-wrote a number of best-selling books . The first was a book entitled “The Shroud of Turin: How Leonardo da Vinci Tricked History” ( English Turin Shroud: How Leonardo da Vinci Fooled History ), in which the authors argued that the Shroud of Turin can be made using the stenop , and Leonardo da Vinci not only it forged, but also used his own image ^{[2] [3] [4] [5]} .

In 1997, Picknett and Prince released their most famous book, The Revelation of the Templar: The Secret Guards of the True Person of Christ, in , which was used by Dan Brown as one of the main sources when writing the novel “ The Da Vinci Code ” ^[6] . Picknett and Prince later appeared together in the movie The Da Vinci Code in a short episode when the main characters ride a bus to Temple Church in London. Robert Langdon ( Tom Hanks ) leaves his seat to join Sophie ( Audrey Tautou ) at the back of the bus, while Picknett and Prince are sitting on the left.

Picknett is a member of the Ghost Club .

Journalist and writer Richard Ebanis notes that "Picknett and Prince are conspiracy theorists with a bias in the occult , paranormal and UFO " ^[7] .
