“ Three Nines ” (Three Nines) or “999” is a Soviet and Ukrainian rock band . She is the first Ukrainian team that performed in the UNESCO hall.

Team History
The group was founded in Lviv in 1986 by guitarist Igor Tolokha, vocalist Alexander Melnik and drummer Gleb Tolstoy. They were joined by keyboard player Evgeny Tarnavsky and bass guitar player Alexey Buglak. Then the band played in heavy metal style. A year later, the group broke up.
In early 1988, the group meets again. This time its founders were guitarist Alexander Vedenin and drummer Gleb Tolstoy. Then the band performed psychedelic and hard rock . In the same year, the group became a member of the Kiev musical association "Experiment" and took part in the festival "Golosevvo-88". At the end of the same year, the team disintegrates and meets in a year. From the previous participants remain Tolstoy and Vedenin. In May 1993, the group won the "Grand Prix" in Lviv and became the winner of the festival " Chervona Ruta " in Donetsk. Later, the group successfully toured the countries of Western and Central Europe . Interestingly, in Munich, the group manages to give a concert in the town square, where foreign performers had not performed before. Later the group received an official invitation from UNESCO . Then the style could be described as alternative and indie rock . The compositions “Galileo”, “Waltz with Poison” and “Wild Orchid” more than once stood at the top of the Ukrainian charts.
