History

Since the beginning of the 40s of the XX century, the Blood Transfusion Station of the Moscow Health Department was part of the City Clinical Hospital named after S.P. Botkin as a blood transfusion unit. On July 1, 1952, by decision of the Executive Committee of the Moscow City Council on June 14, 1952 No. 40/37, the order for the Moscow City Health Department excluded the department from the Botkin Hospital and turned into an independent institution controlled by the City Health Department - Blood Transfusion Station in Moscow .

In the second half of the 50s, a laboratory of standard antisera of the ABO system and a Rhesus laboratory producing an anti-serum for identifying Rh blood were opened; The practice of collecting blood outside the station at enterprises and institutions with the involvement of special visiting teams of doctors is gaining momentum. The station produced only canned blood and its components: erythrocyte mass, erythrocyte suspension, leukocyte, platelet mass and dry plasma.

In the 60s, the production of the blood protein drug aminokrovin, necessary for parenteral nutrition, and fibrinogen began .

In the 1970s and 80s, a production building for plasma fractionation was built and commissioned, the long-term storage method of frozen red blood cells (-196 ° C) began to be used, and a cryobank was opened. The station began to supply Moscow pharmacies with new medications: albumin , immunoglobulins , thrombin , fibrin film. Directed immunoglobulins were produced - anti-staphylococcal and anti-Rhesus. A laboratory for state control of the quality of blood preparations and a bank of phenotyped red blood cells were opened using the ABO system, Rhesus and Kell systems. In 1987, the production complex of the station was opened in the Tsaritsyno district, Moscow.

After the collapse of the USSR, a new technological line of apparatus plasmapheresis was opened with an estimated maximum volume of 10,000 liters of plasma per year, and the hardware method of withdrawing therapeutic doses of thromboconcentrate from one donor began to be used.

To prevent infection with infectious diseases with donor plasma, a special plasma quarantine department was opened at the station in 2001 (now - the quarantine and blood rejection department). By developing new production lines, up to 30 tons of blood plasma can be stored simultaneously.

By order No. 317 dated 04/04/2017 of the Moscow City Health Department, the DZM blood transfusion station was renamed the OK K. Gavrilov Blood Center DZM.
