Morozov's works are devoted to the study of smallpox in humans and animals; he was the author of more than 150 scientific papers, including the fundamental work Atlas of the Morphology of Viruses (1951).

Biography
Born on January 11 ( January 23 according to the new style) in 1879 in Voronezh, came from the old Morozov family.
In 1898 he graduated from the Voronezh gymnasium, and in 1904 - Moscow University . He was a member of the Russian-Japanese and World War I - a military doctor. [1] In 1904-1914 he headed the Voronezh provincial zemsky smallpox calf, in 1914-1923 he headed the Pasteur station organized by him, in 1923-1930 - the Central State Smallpox Institute of the USSR People's Health.
Since 1931 - professor of medicine, later became head of the smallpox department of the Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences. He took part in the development of the first smallpox control programs in the USSR. M. A. Morozov, through selection, received new strains of smallpox vaccine - azinin and azininoovin , which were taken into production in the USSR and the GDR .
He died in 1964 in Moscow. He was buried in the clan tomb of a part of the Morozov dynasty at the Rogozhsky cemetery .
Son - V. M. Morozov (1907-1996) - psychiatrist, professor, corresponding member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR [2] .
