On May 3, 1948, the Embassy of India in Brazil was opened in the city of Rio de Janeiro ; on August 1, 1971, the embassy was moved to the capital of Brasilia . Brazil and India are geographically large countries with cultural diversity, a democratic government, and a large multinational population. Countries collaborate on issues such as international trade, BRICS , the environment, United Nations reform, and the expansion of the Security Council [1] . Trade relations between countries are developing in a number of areas, such as: science and technology, pharmaceuticals. In 2007, trade between countries amounted to $ 3.12 billion, compared with $ 1.2 billion in 2004 [2] .
