Title
Since 1170, the name of the locality Losice has been known. The name constantly changed to Lositz (1171 and 1193), Locisse (1194), Losiz (1197), Lozitz (1314). The fortress and settlement were called from 1236 Lositz , 1248 Losiz , 1275 Loseze , 1294 Losiz and then abbreviated 1331 Loytze and 1332 Loitze . the old polab name probably means Elk . [one]
