Yisroel Rubin ( June 12, 1890 , Radoshkovichi of the Vilnius province - February 24, 1954 , Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli educator and publicist. One of the founders of school education in Eretz Yisrael .

Biography

Born in the town of Radoshkovichi (now Molodechno district , Minsk region , Republic of Belarus ) in the family of Khatskel Rubin and Rokhl-Lei Zeltser . He received a traditional Jewish education in heder and yeshiva . He graduated from teacher training courses in Grodno . Dr. Philos. In his youth, he participated in the activities of the Bund , the Zionist socialists, then joined the anarchists. During the First World War, he worked as a teacher in shelters for refugee children in Minsk , Vilna , and Warsaw . In 1921 he graduated from the Philosophy Department of the University of Jena (Ph.D.) Since 1921 he lived in Poland , was among the founders of "TSISHO" ("Central Jewish School Organization"), took part in the work of the local branch of the " Joint " organization. Since 1926 he lived in Berlin .
In 1929 he emigrated to Eretz Yisrael , worked as a teacher, a school inspector.
He published articles on pedagogy, psychology, folklore, linguistics, literature in periodicals in Yiddish , Hebrew , Russian and German: โ€œShul un Lebenโ€ ( Warsaw ), โ€œNae Shulโ€, โ€œShul un gameโ€ ( Vilno ).
Translated into Yiddish novel โ€œDemonsโ€ by F. M. Dostoevsky , โ€œCaspar Gauserโ€ by J. Wasserman
