Biography
After the death of King Ferdinand VII, he took the side of challenger Don Carlos the Elder in the First Carlist War , raised an uprising in the Basque province of Gipuzkoa and waged a desperate war with the Christians , the adherents of the regent Maria Christina . Died of a wound received during the siege of Bilbao ( Spanish ).
