Biography
Born in a working class family. In 1971, she graduated from Tomsk State University , studied at the TSU postgraduate school from 1972 to 1977, and in 1978 she defended her thesis on the topic “Tiogafiaty of rare-earth elements”. She worked as a researcher at the TSU (1978-1979), a researcher at the Institute of Atmospheric Optics of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Tomsk (1979-1983). After moving the family to Kemerovo in 1983, she worked at the Kuzbass Polytechnic Institute at the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry, in 1995 she became the head of the department. Since 2003 - Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technology, in 2012–2013 - Acting Director of the Institute of Chemical and Petrochemical Technologies .
In 1995, T. G. Cherkasova defended her doctoral thesis on the topic "Hexathiocyanatochromates (III) metal complexes with dimethyl sulfoxide and dimethylformamide." In 1996, Cherkasova awarded the academic title of professor. T.G. Cherkasova was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Natural Sciences of the Russian Federation. In 2001 she was elected a full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences [1] .
Scientific Activities
TG Cherkasova is engaged in research in the field of theoretical and experimental chemistry of coordination metal compounds, chemistry of solids and nanomaterials, chemical kinetics, problems of protecting materials from corrosion. Cherkasova published 285 scientific papers, received 4 copyright certificates and 8 patents [2] , wrote 59 educational and methodological developments and textbooks.
