Donn A. Tice (born July 12, 1959 ) is an American entrepreneur and manager , chairman of the board of directors (2010) and head of D.light Design (CEO, 2011), which aims to provide access to the poorest layers world population to solar power; Head of Greenline Industries, Inc. (CEO, 2009); co-founder and managing partner of Sustainable Solutions (2006), member of the advisory board of the NanoBusiness Alliance and officer of the Young Presidents' Organization [1] [2] . Biography
Donne Tys earned a bachelor's degree in economics University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee , as well as an MBA from the University of Michigan [5] [2] [4] [3] .
Tys was the chief operating officer of IDG Books; worked as sales director for Oakland Tribune, director of marketing and new products at Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream; as well as a brand manager at Procter & Gamble ( ) [2] [5] [4] [3] .
He was president and board member of Abracon Corporation, as well as president and chief operating officer (COO) of HydraBaths, Inc. [2]
From 1997 to 2002, Theis was president of Winterland; was a member of the board of directors of the company [6] [2] .
For six years he worked at Holt & Associates. [2]
From January 2003 to July 2006, Theis led (CEO) Nano-Tex, LLC. [2] [6]
The traditional business career did not suit Donna [5] [7] . One day, he realized that he did not want to be the person who saves the world from stains, and decided to devote himself to social problems [5] [7] .
In 2006, Donn Theis became the co-founder of Sustainable Solutions, and has since become its managing partner [2] [6] .
In November 2008, Theis joined the D.light Design team as director [2] .
Since January 2009, Theis has led (CEO) Greenline Industries, Inc. [2]
In 2010, Donne Theis became chairman of the board of directors, and in March 2011, CEO D.light Design [1] [2] [8] [9] . Since then, the company has been developing under his leadership.
Awards and prizes
In 2014, Donn Tys [1] , Ned Tozun [10] and Sam Goldman [11] , for their work in D.light Design , were named the Swab Foundation by the Social Entrepreneurs of the Year.
Personal life
He is married to Kristina Skierka ( English Kristina Skierka ), who also works in D.light Design [7] .
